Ryan Hill is Principal at Opstad Elementary School located in North Bend, Wa. He’s been an educator for over 17 years, spending the past decade in Snoqualmie Valley Schools.
Ryan came to the Snoqualmie Valley School district in 2006 to teach science at Mount Si High School. In 2012, he became a technology integration leader and teacher trainer for the district. In the past school year, Ryan had a dual role, serving as Opstad’s assistant principal and the district’s Instructional Technology Coordinator. Ryan continues to provide professional development for teachers in Snoqualmie Valley School District as well as neighboring Districts around instructional best practices and the importance of social emotional learning in education.
He earned his master’s degree in educational technology from Lesley University in Cambridge, Mass., and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Central Washington University. Ryan and his family have lived in North Bend since 2006.
Ryan is passionate about student Digital Literacy, Social Emotional Learning, and 21st Century Skill Development (Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, & Creativity). He specializes in Google Apps, ActiveBoards, Classroom Clickers, Chromebooks, iPads, Social Media, TPEP tools for evaluation, Zones of Regulation, Mindfulness, and Web 2.0 tools in the classroom.
